Summary/Objective
The Lead Lease Negotiator (Oil and Gas Lease) plays a critical role in collaborating with mineral owners to meet Cresta objectives for advancing oil and gas projects.
This position requires a sound understanding of the Texas oil and gas industry, standard oil and gas leases, agreements, conveyance documents, division orders and other legal forms of title documentation, as well as the highest ethical standards.
Essential Functions

1. Conduct lease negotiations with the highest ethical standards and demonstrate decision-making skills that ensure delivery of services to Cresta and partners.
2. Communicates internally within Cresta team and externally with mineral owners, attorneys and other related parties.
3. Oversee key projects, processes and performance reports, and data while analyzing mineral rights ownership.
4. Actively engages with internal and external relationships to identify and resolve issues.
5. Develops and implements methods and procedures for monitoring projects such as preparation of records of expenditures and research findings, and progress reports to inform management of current status of each project.
Competencies
1. Permian Basin preferred.
2. Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills
3. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
4. Must possess a basic understanding of contract terms related to mineral rights.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
6. Demonstrate leadership abilities; takes initiative on team tasks
Supervisory Responsibility
This position is an individual contributor to the department and is responsible for their individual performance management within that department. This position may potentially supervise other department employees to support future workflow.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The ability to lift office equipment up to 25 pounds may be necessary on occasion.
The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the production areas, which may require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.
Physical Demands
This position is located at the Cresta corporate office and is not a high risk for injury environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms..
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evenings and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. There is a reasonable expectation of employees to check their messages via electronic media after normal work hours.
Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
Required Education and Experience:
1. Bachelor’s degree.
2. Minimum of 2 years of applicable job/industry experience
3. Energy industry experience.
