Overview:
The Lead Lease Operator is responsible for overseeing daily field operations related to oil and gas production across assigned leases. This role provides leadership to Lease Operators, ensures safe and efficient production practices, and acts as the primary point of contact between field personnel and company management. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, a solid understanding of artificial lift systems (including gas lift and plunger lift), and the ability to generate accurate reports using Microsoft Office tools.
Responsibilities:
•Lead and coordinate a team of Lease Operators in the safe operation of wells, tanks, compressors, and other production equipment.
•Monitor daily production and ensure optimal performance of wells, particularly those on gas lift or plunger systems.
•Provide technical guidance and support to operators in troubleshooting and resolving field issues.
•Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations, and company standards.
•Conduct regular site inspections and verify accurate readings and data collection.
•Compile and review production data, downtime events, and maintenance logs.
•Prepare and submit daily reports using Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
•Liaise with Foremen, Engineers, and Field Systems Analysts to relay field conditions and recommend improvements.
•Support training and development of new Lease Operators and assist in onboarding as needed.
Qualifications:
•Minimum 5+ years of oil & gas production experience, with at least 1–2 years in a lead or senior operator role.
•Strong knowledge of artificial lift systems, especially gas lift and plunger lift.
•Familiarity with compressors (company-owned and third-party) and production facilities.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for reporting and analysis.
•Excellent communication and leadership skills.
•High school diploma or GED required; additional technical training or certifications are a plus.
•Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
