About the role:
Reporting to the Senior Lead, Health and Safety, the Lead, Health and Safety is responsible for assisting with the continual improvement, development and implementation of EVR’s Health and Safety Management Systems (HSMS) and Contractor Management Program.

This role requires a high level of integrity and an ability to know your audience while working effectively with stakeholders on safety initiatives and programs, thus presentation, communication and interpersonal skills are vital.

- Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
- Responsible for the operationalization of the Contractor Management program and systems, such as EHSC, P2W and Contractor Orientation programs for the region
- Support the implementation of SafeCoal across the region, assets and contractor groups.
- Define, execute, and prioritize a roadmap of Health & Safety initiatives that support SafeCoal Implementation, High potential risk reduction and Contractor Management.
- Lead the integration of effective organizational change processes at the site, business unit and corporate level
- Coordinate Regional H&S programs, including monitoring systems, providing support for analysis and design, and implement continuous improvement measures
- Lead and motivate HS team in achieving operating targets and maximize employee work performance and productivity through coaching and feedback
- Consolidate, analyze, and report large data sets to identify both short term and long-term trends and inform decision-making for business plans
- Assist with the development of communications plans, project messaging and preparing Health & Safety reports to internal and external stakeholders
- Develop, implement, and manage work management process key performance indicators
- Provide support for HS Assurance, risk management, and incident investigations
- Complete other responsibilities as assigned or required
- Occupational Health and Safety diploma/degree or an equivalent degree program focused on health and safety.
- Minimum of 5 years’ previous experience in a HS role.
- Experience with working in enterprise level health and safety data systems.
- Proven ability to navigate and use proprietary software platforms.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to present information clearly and consistently to all levels of the organization.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
