Description
The Land Business Analyst gathers, extracts, and evaluates Land-related information and data, creating reports and databases used by Land, various departments, and management. The individual will work with key members of the Land, Land Admin, Reservoir, Finance, Accounting, and Information Management departments to develop technical solutions to various business problems. In doing so, the individual must be able to communicate with multiple stakeholders to identify, define, and analyze various project requirements. The individual will perform forecasting exercises, statistical analysis, quality assurance checks, and will generate ideas to help improve monitoring and optimize processes across departments. The ideal candidate has strong time management skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities•Define reporting and alerting requirements for multiple projects
•Develop and run periodic reports of Land-related information and data for key stakeholders
•Assist in forecasting potential outcomes, identifying variances, researching underlying causes, and creating possible solutions
•Own and develop relationship with stakeholders, working with them to optimize results
•Work with technical teams as required and assist with testing
•Assist in developing, documenting, and maintaining system processes
•Continually look for ways to improve/innovate monitoring solutions and automate processes
•Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
•Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Minimum Requirements:
•Familiarity with Snowflake, Power Query and/or Power BI
•Strong MS Office suite skills with particular emphasis on Excel and Power Point
•Excellent written and verbal English communications skills
•Manage information with accuracy and critical attention to detail
•Possess a working knowledge of oil and gas vocabulary
•Able to effectively manage time and prioritize projects to meet established deadlines
•Able to learn company specific applications
•Able to work and communicate effectively with all levels of co-workers, management, and external parties
Preferred:
•SQL query writing skills
Education & Work Experience Required
Minimum Requirements:
•Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statics, Data Science, Information Management, IT/Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related discipline
Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook (*emphasis added)
