About This Job

The Lab Technician under direct supervision, trains and becomes familiar with the chemical hygiene plan and the current HSE laboratory safety standards.

•

Pay Rate: $18.00/hour

•

Assignment Length: 6 months with the high possibility of extension based on performance and other factors.

Responsibilities:

•

Adhere to prescribed safety rules and regulations while performing assigned duties.

•

Conduct prototype or laboratory tests following established procedures.

•

Learn to build equipment and perform basic material or environmental tests using electrical/electronic, chemical, and mechanical equipment.

•

Document test data accurately for reporting purposes.

•

Maintain files and documentation related to test equipment and results.

•

Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure accurate results.

•

Handle and manage chemical products safely and efficiently, including inventory, receiving, labeling, and storing samples.

•

Follow strict Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe working environment, including conducting lab safety inspections.

•

Assist in daily laboratory tasks and basic laboratory testing.

•

Ensure job tasks are performed correctly to minimize impact on the organization's viability.

Qualifications:

•

An associate's degree in chemistry or 2 years of related laboratory experience is preferred.

•

Completion of eight (8) hours of college chemistry is preferred.

•

Proficient in Microsoft Office software.

•

Basic knowledge of chemistry and laboratory practices.

•

Basic knowledge of metrology for equipment calibration is a plus.

•

Previous experience in a chemical laboratory is a plus.

•

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

•

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
