IES retail is looking for full-time kitchen helpers to support our Uptown Texaco Kitchen and Food Mart. Under the general supervision of the Station Manager, our Kitchen Helpers provide cooking and prepping functions for the Kitchen Department. Desired competencies include proven cooking skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Our ideal candidate is collaborative, self- motivated, dependable, able to work effectively and safely in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining 100% total customer focus. Prior relevant experience in a kitchen setting is preferred.

- Provides exceptional customer service using Texaco’s 4 steps of Customer Service and ensure team does the same. Greeting, smiling, and making eye contact, suggesting additional items, processing the transaction accurately, thanking the customer and inviting them to return.
- Processing transactions accurately, thanking the customer and inviting them to return
- Preps workstation with food products and equipment, keeps station sanitary and clean throughout the shift.
- Prepares, processes, and fulfills orders for made to order food
- Ensure food products are date labeled, covered, stored, and rotated on a first in, first out basis.
- Complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.
- Maintains inventory as required.
- Monitor operation of equipment and notify Supervisor when malfunctions occur.
- Perform routine cleaning while maintaining a safe work environment.
- Complete other tasks as assigned
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule.
- Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Able to tolerate and withstand hot/cold temperatures working in a kitchen environment and on a cook line for extended periods.
- Able to lift, carry or push items from 0-50lbs.
- Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English.
- Basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Must be able to obtain required up-to-date food handling certificates, and TB Clearance as required by law
- Strong interpersonal and verbal & written communication skills.
- Prior experience working in a kitchen environment.
- 1 year of customer service/cash handling
Salary Range:
$17.00 - $19.00 per hour
