This is a full-time position based out of Greenfire Resources Fort McMurray SAGD Facilities on a 7/7 rotation, as a direct contractor. You must have your own incorporated company, insurance, WCB & GST number already set up.
This position will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of all electrical materials and systems at the field operations facility. The incumbent will work closely with the operations and maintenance teams to prioritize and safely complete daily activities. The individual will participate in cross-training of both electrical and instrumentation trades to enhance the team work practiced.
Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Programming, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing electrical maintenance and installations
- Interprets drawings and manufacturer's specifications for the installation, modifying or repairing equipment
- Conducts preventative maintenance on all electrical equipment
- Maintains equipment service and repair records
- Supports the implementation of maintenance programs, adequate reporting and follow-up
- Supports the planning, preparation, and implementation of turn-around maintenance work
- Participates in training to ensure that safe, efficient and reliable processes are being followed
- Develops safe work plans, field level safety assessments and tailgate talks to ensure worker safety
- Participates in regulatory programs around CEC, inspection authority compliance, and reporting programs implemented
- Participates in maintenance and troubleshooting of our site DCS, PLC and SCADA systems
- Supports the improvement of plant reliability of electrical systems through the application of effective reliability strategies, root cause analysis, problem solving and sound engineering practice
- Performs all electrical related duties, including working with site instrumentation staff during the installation of cabling and related infrastructure pertinent to addition of instrumentation devices.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.- 5+ years of related oil and gas or industrial work experience
- Journeyman Electrician Certificate
- Proven ability to interpret and develop drawings and schematics
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
- Motivated and ability to set goals and organize resources
- Able to meet the physical demands of the position and meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, understands complex written and oral instructions
- Knowledgeable around occupation hazards and corresponds safety precautions for the electrical and instrumentation work performed in an operating plant
