We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyman Electrician to join Solify in Ontario. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs, with a focus on solar energy systems and energy-efficient solutions. This role requires in-depth knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC), proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics, and a commitment to safety and quality. The Journeyman Electrician will play a key role in advancing our mission to deliver sustainable, net-zero energy solutions through solar and renewable energy projects alongside our Master electrician.
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems for solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, energy storage solutions, and other renewable energy technologies in commercial and industrial settings.
- Ensure compliance with the Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC) and industry standards for all electrical work.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents specific to solar and HVAC installations.
- Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), inverters, and battery management systems to ensure optimal performance of renewable energy systems.
- Perform high-voltage and low-voltage electrical work related to solar arrays, grid connections, and energy-efficient systems.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment (e.g., ohmmeters, multimeters) to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues.
- Collaborate with solar technicians, engineers, and other tradespeople to execute projects efficiently and safely.
- Conduct renovations and retrofits involving electrical systems to meet NetZero energy standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
- Provide technical expertise and support for integrating solar and NetZero solutions into existing infrastructure.
- Valid Journeyperson Electrician license (309A) in Ontario, with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in electrical work.
- Strong knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC) and familiarity with solar and renewable energy standards.
- Experience with solar PV systems, energy storage, or other renewable energy technologies is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for solar and NetZero projects.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), inverters, and battery management systems is an asset.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment
- Construction site experience, with knowledge of electrical installations in commercial or industrial environments; solar installation experience is a plus.
- Ability to perform frame carpentry or related tasks for solar panel mounting and electrical infrastructure is advantageous.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with diverse project teams and clients.
- Must have valid driver's license and vehicle.
