This is a safety-sensitive position, the successful candidate(s) will be required to successfully complete mandatory pre-employment drug and alcohol testing to comply with SaskPower’s Fit for Duty Policy.

NOTES:

1. Preference will be given to those who already hold a Utility Fleet Equipment Mechanic Certificate

2. If employee fails to achieve fully qualified status within the allowed time frame shall be reverted to their previous rate of pay and will be required to procure another position through the bidding procedure in the following 30 calendar day period. If employee does not procure a position in this time, the employee will be issued a notice of lay off (notice based on current Labour Standards requirements

JOB SUMMARY:

The employee in this classification is responsible to fabricate, assemble, operate, troubleshoot, install, commission, maintain, test and repair equipment, machinery, controls, facilities and infrastructure associated with the specific trade.

This position falls within the scope of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), Local 2067.
