We’re looking for Intermediate Solar Installers to join our growing team. This will be on site from Greater Chicagoland - 60 mile radius around Chicago, IL (office). Successful candidates will have the chance to build a lasting career with FCS beyond individual projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Work collaboratively to install and seal roof attachments, racking supports, rooftop electronics, and solar panels.

- Perform quality checks to ensure installations meet manufacturer and project standards.

- Review installation plans with Crew Leads and follow team guidance.

- Troubleshoot and resolve minor installation issues.

- Mentor and guide entry-level installers in techniques and safety practices.

- Maintain and clean up job sites, tools, vehicles, and materials.

- Work safely with mechanical and electrical team members while maintaining productivity.

- Follow all OSHA and Fresh Coast Solar safety regulations.

- Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Requirements:

- 1–3 years of residential solar or electrical installation experience.

- Familiarity with solar racking, inverters, wiring, and NEC code.

- Ability to read technical drawings and installation manuals.

- Comfortable working at heights on both flat and pitched roofs.

- High school diploma or trade school degree in construction or building sciences.

- Strong communication and customer service skills.

- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

About Fresh Coast Solar

Fresh Coast Solar is a locally owned and operated, full service Engineering, Procurement and Construction company partnering with renewable energy firms throughout the Midwest.

After years of experience developing and installing solar projects throughout the Midwest, founders Jeremy Vavrik and Adam Kay formed Fresh Coast Solar in 2018. They met while working for a solar firm in Michigan, and had a shared vision of returning to their native Chicago to build a solar business. Their goal was accelerating the adoption of clean, renewable energy through efficient design, installation and project management services.
