Position Summary:
Equinox Engineering is seeking an Intermediate Cost Controller / Scheduler to support project planning, budgeting, and scheduling activities. The successful candidate will play a key role in tracking project costs, forecasting, and maintaining project schedules to ensure timely and efficient project delivery.
- Track project costs, prepare cost reports, and maintain budget controls.
- Develop, maintain, and update project schedules using scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Monitor project progress and milestones, identifying potential delays and recommending corrective actions.
- Assist in project forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
- Collaborate with project teams, including engineers, planners, and project managers, to ensure schedule and budget alignment.
- Support contract administration activities, including change orders and cost tracking.
- Provide data and reports for management decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Diploma or degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field.
- 4 – 8 years of experience in cost control and scheduling in oil & gas or mining
- Must have proficiency in scheduling software (Primavera P6 and MS Project) and cost management tools.
- Must have advanced level in Microsoft Excel (i.e. comfortable with building and maintaining sheets with complex formulas, pivot tables, graphs and data analysis tools).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong knowledge of project management principles, cost control processes, and budgeting.
