Overview
The Gas Control Transportation and Analyst position at Rhode Island Energy is responsible for confirming natural gas supplies within the required deadline and in addition, the ideal candidate will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and support operational efficiency through effective data management and documentation in conjunction with Control Room Management (CRM).
Responsibilities Responsibilities:
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all CRM-related documentation.
- Identify and eliminate inconsistencies or irrelevant information that could hinder accurate reporting.
- Track and maintain records of controller training, including field training completions.
- Monitor and report training effectiveness and deviations from standard procedures.
- Provide audit support by preparing data sets and reports for PHMSA and other regulatory bodies.
- Maintain version control for CRM procedures and documents, ensuring only approved versions are in use.
- Analyze large datasets to identify patterns, assess data quality, and communicate findings and uncertainties.
- Update, maintain, and perform analysis on complex spreadsheet models.
- Provide specialized data analysis to support internal and external data requests.

- Provide specialized analysis to support responses to internal and external data requests.
- Actively reconciles, manages, and mitigates any volume imbalances resulting from differences between nominated and confirmed volumes.
- Monitors daily information on pipeline EBBs including scheduled v. actual flows and changes or cuts to scheduled volumes.
- confirms natural gas flows on interstate pipeline electronic bulletin boards ("EBBs") and in compliance with relevant Federal Energy Regulatory Commission regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in data Analytics, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in data analysis, preferably in the energy or utilities sector.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools.
- Experience with data governance, version control, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with PHMSA regulations and CRM programs is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working for a gas utility in the gas procurement function or experience in compliance and Control Room Management.
