The Supervisor/Gas Control is responsible for the supervision of the Gas Control Department and providing technical oversight of gas control operations. This position is responsible for decisions for safe, reliable control and monitoring of gas systems in accordance with applicable tariffs, regulations and corporate policies. Other responsibilities typically include all aspects of control room process design and control engineering principles as it relates to Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Control Room Management regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a minimum of five years of relevant work experience plus a bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential job responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
•Supervise, coordinate and monitor work activities of individuals associated with the control and monitoring of gas systems
•Develop and provide control room guidance to workgroup personnel associated with the safe operation of gas systems (Engineering, Construction, Technical Services, Gas Purchasing & Scheduling)
•Supervise and manage control room projects according to Company specifications
•Supervise and approve design/implementation of real time pipeline modeling and simulation systems for control room operations
•Assist in the preparation and updating of department budgets, three year budget plan and monthly year end projections
•Ensure gas is delivered in a safe and efficient manner according to customer requirements and upstream pipeline flexibility
•Provide oversight and guidance for control room actions taken during emergency situations
•Maintain and evaluate data, such as SCADA system data, daily supplier quantities, and imbalances, to ensure accuracy within control room applications and gas control reports
•Write and review departmental technical instructions and procedures
•Provide key support with long-term Gas Supply planning initiatives
•Responsible for emergency response activities – Be subject to “on-call” duty
•Provide subject matter expertise for control room activities in compliance audits and responses to data requests
•Maintain knowledge and support of regulatory Controller fatigue education/training requirements and serve as the fatigue risk manager for the control room by managing schedules and fatigue risk
•Provide system training for gas control personnel, ensure all training compliance is met and maintained; Maintain training and testing procedures
•Review and approve SCADA system improvements to ensure operational functionality and control room management compliance
•Provide guidance for the development and maintenance of the Corporate SCADA Policy
•Maintain working relationships/routinely liaison with other departments within the Company and representatives from upstream pipelines/customers that impact system operation
•Develop and implement disaster recovery for Gas Control
•Manage upstream pipeline and customer imbalances
•Facilitate the development of control room process design for the enhancement of control and monitoring functions
•Facilitate process analysis to enhance control room situational awareness and education of control room personnel
•Guide the utilization of control room engineering principles to support the Alarm Management Plan and efficient operation of SCADA
•Lead and/or perform change management functions such as planning, process development, communications and support
•Evaluate and maintain Controller workload analysis and statistical evaluations to enhance Controller console focus
•Identify Control Room process trends and communicate areas for improvement to management and/or Corporate groups
•Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned
•Regular and predictable attendance is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job
SALARY DETAIL:
Carson City: $93,380 - $140,070
