The Electrical Instrumentation Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and instrumentation equipment within the plant. This role ensures optimal performance of plant machinery and systems to support continuous production and compliance with safety and environmental standards.
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems including motors, drives, switchgear, and power distribution systems.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.
- Calibrate, maintain, and repair instrumentation devices such as flow meters, pressure transmitters, temperature sensors, and level indicators.
- Install and configure PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems.
- Monitor and optimize control loops for efficient plant operation.
- Maintain documentation for instrumentation systems and calibration records.
- Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability.
- Maintains accurate records of work performed and parts used.
- Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a culture of safety.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and instrumentation.
- Proficient in reading electrical and P&ID schematics.
- Familiarity with PLC programming and industrial automation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication both written and oral.
- Proficiency with inspection tools, equipment and software programs.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and as part of the team.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate’s degree in electrical engineering, Instrumentation, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years in in industrial maintenance, preferably in cement, mining, or heavy manufacturing.
- Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs., stand, walk, climb ladders and or stairs.
- Exposure to dust, noise, and high temperatures.
- Requires working at heights, in confined spaces
- Use of PPE is mandatory
- Must be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to, walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, turning, climbing to a significant degree, and/or pulling of controls.
- Heavy work-exerting up to 100 pounds occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.
