Position

Instrumentation Technician, Nunavut

Location and Reporting Structure

Reporting to the Supervisor, Instrumentation, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.

Responsibilities

- Plan and execute electrical and instrumentation installations, ensuring proper system integration with PLC/DCS.

- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment including but not limited to transducers, gas detectors, flow controllers, and chemical analyzers.

- Conduct tuning, adjustments, diagnostic testing, and commissioning of instrumentation systems.

- Safely perform preventative maintenance and respond to emergency call-outs to support production schedules.

- Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, logbooks, and deviations from procedures.

- Collaborate with technicians, engineers, and operators to optimize equipment performance and drive continuous improvement.

- Adhere to B2Gold Nunavut’s safety policies and procedures.

Desired Competencies and Requirements

- Five (5) years of instrumentation experience, with preference given to those with experience working in a remote site with limited access to resources, experience in mineral processing environments is considered an asset.

- Interprovincial Red Seal Instrumentation and Control Technician qualification or Instrumentation Engineering Technology Diploma.

- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical diagrams, and IOM/OEM Manuals.

Compensation and Benefits

For informational purposes, the estimated annual earnings are $151,580.00 for 2184 scheduled hours (combined regular hourly rate of $55.00 and overtime rate of $82.50) in a work year.
