Instrument and Electrical Tech (Temporary Role)

Job Brief

As the I & E Tech, you will maintain, repair, troubleshoot, or replace plant electrical and instrument equipment. You will perform new construction and/or modification in conformance with electrical code requirements.

- Schedule: Monday - Thursday 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM

- Pay: $37.40 an hour

- This role is expected to end May 30, 2026

What You’ll Do

As the Instrumentation and Electrical Technician (I & E Tech), you will maintain, repair, troubleshoot, or replace plant electrical and instrument equipment. You will perform new construction and/or modification in conformance with electrical code requirements. Other duties will include:

- Receives assignment for work to be performed and discuss any unusual or complex problems with supervisor.

- Become familiar with plant process/operation.

- Assists the Maintenance Technicians with the troubleshooting and repair of motor control circuits, field

instruments (pressure, temperature, flow, etc.) control valves (rebuild, repack, stroke, calibrate positioner, etc.)

plant shutdown systems (logic), lighting and heating systems, single loop controllers, DCS.

- Develop the ability to utilize diagnostic test equipment for repairs of instrument and electrical equipment.

- Other duties as assigned by the I&E Supervisor or Maintenance Superintendent.

- Willingness to work overtime and be on call as required.

- Performs all work within plant safety rules and procedures.

- Demonstrate and/or lead the commitment to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavioral based

safety. (Ensure SAO, JSA, Take 5’s, stretching, and all safety rules are being completed.)

- Ensure compliance with applicable Company HSE Performance Standards, as well as applicable acts and

regulations.

- Live and foster the IPL Corporate Values.

- Supports BEx initiatives and ensures participation from all areas of responsibility

What We’re Looking For:

- Previous electrical / instrumentation installation and maintenance preferred

- Knowledge of maintenance tools and their proper application.

- Ability to wear and care for applicable personal protective equipment (such as, safety glasses and shoes, respirator, hard hat and ear protection, safety harness) as required by site specific requirements Ability to work outdoors for long periods of time in extreme weather conditions.

- Ability to read and comprehend technical data.

- Ability to work with and around various chemicals, lubricants, and temperatures common to a chemical processing facility.

- Ability to obtain and maintain a TWIC card
