The Sign Installer is responsible for the safe, high-quality installation of interior and exterior architectural signage on commercial job sites. This role is hands-on, field-based, and directly impacts how our clients’ brands show up in the built environment. - Install a full range of signage products (interior/exterior, wall signs, channel letters, monuments, pylons, wayfinding, ADA, vinyl, etc.) according to drawings, specs, and job standards.
- Read and interpret shop drawings, site plans, and installation details; verify field dimensions and conditions before drilling/anchoring.
- Layout signs on walls, façades, and interiors to ensure correct placement, level, spacing, and visual alignment.
- Safely operate company vehicles, service trucks, trailers, lifts, and related tools/equipment (ladders, scaffolding, boom lifts, scissor lifts, hand and power tools).
- Perform basic electrical connections for illuminated signage under the direction of a licensed electrician or as permitted by local code.
- Load and unload signs and materials, ensuring proper handling to avoid damage.
- Conduct site prep: locate studs/structure, verify substrates, anchor types, and field conditions; escalate issues immediately when conditions don’t match drawings.
- Complete installations to spec and on schedule, including sealing, caulking, patching, and basic touch-ups for a clean, finished look.
- Follow all safety protocols, including PPE, fall protection, ladder and lift safety, and site-specific requirements.
- Communicate proactively with the Installation Manager/Project Manager about progress, issues, and changes in site conditions.
- Document work with photos and field notes (before, during, and after installs) using company apps or forms.
- Perform occasional service/repair calls: remove, replace, or adjust existing signage as needed.
- Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment in clean, safe working order and report maintenance needs.
- Experience:
- 2+ years in one or more of the following: sign installation, construction, carpentry, glazing, metal fabrication, electrical, or similar skilled trades.- Comfortable working on active construction sites and coordinating with GCs and other trades.
- Technical Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret basic construction drawings, elevations, and installation details.
- Solid mechanical aptitude: drilling, anchoring, measuring, leveling, and using standard hand/power tools.
- Comfortable working at heights (ladders, scaffolding, lifts, rooftops).
- Behavioral Profile:

- Professional presence on job sites: communicates clearly, represents iSIGN well with customers and GCs.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work early mornings, overtime, and occasional Saturdays when required by project schedules.
- Valid Driver’s License:
- Valid state driver’s license with a clean, insurable driving record (no major violations or DUIs in the last 3–5 years, subject to insurance review).
- DOT / CDL (Preferred, not required):
- CDL (Class B) or willingness to obtain is a plus for operating larger trucks and equipment.
- DOT medical card or ability to obtain if required for specific vehicles.
- Background & Screening:
- Must pass a pre-employment background check.
- Must pass a pre-employment and/or random drug screen, including any client-required screens for specific job sites (healthcare, schools, government).
- Work Authorization:
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical/vocational training in a trade (construction, carpentry, electrical, welding, etc.) is a plus.
- Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, and pull 50–75 lbs (with assistance as needed) and handle large sign components.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, light rain) and indoors on active construction sites.
- Frequent standing, climbing, kneeling, bending, and working overhead.
- Ability to travel to job sites throughout the region; occasional overnight travel may be required based on project locations.
- Prior sign installation experience with channel letters, raceways, monuments, and large exterior signs.
- Experience operating aerial lifts (boom, scissor) with valid lift certification.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Basic electrical knowledge related to LED signage, power supplies, and low-voltage wiring.
- Experience on school, healthcare, or large corporate projects with strict safety and access requirements.
