Inner Diameter (ID) Grinder – 2nd Shift

Job Opportunity: ID Grinder – 2nd Shift

Hemco Gage has proudly called Holland MI home for over 79 years. We specialize in manufacturing precision measuring gages used across a variety of industries.

We are expanding our team and seeking an ID Grinder for 2nd shift. This schedule runs from Monday to Thursday, 2:00 PM - 12:30 AM. Training will take place on the 1st shift, scheduled from Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.

Please note - "GRINDING" OF CASTINGS & FORGINGS IS NOT THE SAME. Having done this kind of work in the past does NOT qualify you as an ID grinder.

Primary Responsibilities for ID Grinder:

· Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

· Perform ID grinding by removing material from the inside diameter of gages, hitting small tolerances.

· Set up and operate grinding machines.

· Inspect gages throughout the machining process using gage blocks and other inspection tools.

· Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment in use.

· Additional skills as trained.

Required Qualifications for ID Grinder:

· Commitment to working safely.

· Strong attention to detail.

· Problem-solving and math skills.

· Excellent communication skills.

· Ability to manage time effectively and work independently.

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Strong manual dexterity.

· Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Machining background with prior grinding experience.
