Prepares and paints material associated with structural steel fabrication. Uses a variety of methods to finish, prime and paint fabricated steel products, according to established standards.
Prepares metal surfaces for painting by blasting, smoothing and cleaning as necessary.
Applies paint to the established specifications for the job, may require some assistance to ensure proper application.
Adjusts the air mixture on paint sprayers to the appropriate level, as required for different types of paint.
Mixes different types of paint to meet job specifications.
Uses a hand brush to paint areas that are not easily accessible.
Cleans spraying equipment and brushes, with solvent. Keeps equipment in good working order. Notifies maintenance department when repairs are necessary.
Operates overhead crane, forklift and various other equipment used to prepare steel for painting
Lifts up to 80lbs on a regular basis.
Is able to meet established deadlines in a reasonable manner.
Follow company quality, quantity and safety rules and regulations.
