Position Summary:
R.J. Lipscomb Engineering is looking for a full-time Maintenance Technician to join their team in West Chicago, IL. This position is responsible for the on-site maintenance of all facilities located within our service area. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the purchase, installation, and repair of all mechanical, electrical and hydraulic equipment. The equipment will include, but not be limited to presses, lifts, rollers, skids, cranes etc. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities
•Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of equipment during machine service.
•Perform mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of machines.
•Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
•Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and adjust equipment.
•Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
•Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
•Detect faulty operations and any unusual situations. Reading blueprints, aligning, fitting, welding, measuring, laying out and inspecting parts, marking cutting lines, studying specifications, gathering materials, and operating machinery.
•Repair parts using Manual Lathes and Mills
•Fabricate parts using drawings or sample parts using Manual Lathes and Mills
•Rebuild and Refurbish Used Equipment
•Identify and order replacement parts.
•Follow prints to fabricate custom equipment.
•Ability to identify equipment modifications to improve safety and processes.
Education and Experience:
The qualified individual will have the following skills and experience:
•High school diploma or equivalent required.
•Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Required Skills/Abilities:
•Excellent customer service skills.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•Regularly required to stand, sit, bend and lift up to 50 lbs.
Job Requirements
•1st shift, 8-hour per day, Monday to Friday
•Occasional overtime and weekends
