Industrial Maintenance Technician

Accepting walk in applications between the hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm.

Responsibilities

· Specific responsibilities include preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, minimizing equipment down time and performing small project activities.

· The position will require working in a multitasking role with other maintenance mechanics and electricians to complete any given task.

· Following all safety rules and practices.

· Performing emergency/ breakdown maintenance as necessary to support plant operations.

· Accurately using measurements and test equipment.

· Performing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, steam system, and other repairs and installations as needed.

· Maintaining clean and organized work areas and cleaning up work areas as part of completing assigned tasks.

· Accurately and completely prepare and maintain maintenance records and other paperwork.

· Troubleshooting and solving problems.

· Excellent teamwork, cooperation, and problem-solving skills.

· Willingness to fully cross train in other technical areas to enhance capabilities.

· Candidates must be willing to work alternative shifts, weekends, and overtime as required.

· Able to work with computer systems for maintenance processes, stores, and work orders.

· Performing other duties as assigned by supervision.

Required Qualification/ Skills

· Mechanical aptitude.

· Troubleshooting capabilities.

· Highly qualified candidates would possess manufacturing experience in the steel industry.

· On-the-job success in safety, attendance and quality of work expected.

· Basic knowledge of lubrication, hydraulics, welding, pneumatics, electrical and electronics technologies.

· Excellent teamwork, cooperation, and problem-solving skills.

· Willingness to fully cross train in other technical areas to enhance capabilities.

· Willing and able to work any shift, call-ins, holidays, and overtime as there is a constant demand for overtime in our maintenance department.

· Maintain consistent attendance.

Physical Requirements

· Repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking

· Lifting parts and tools weighing on average 20 pounds, occasionally weighing up to 50 pounds

· Dexterity in eye/hand coordination, feet (foot pedals) manual (picking, pinching, holding, grasping), and wrist motion (repetitive flexion/rotation)

· Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces
