McCarthy Building Companies is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Industrial Control Panel Lead Technician to oversee the fabrication, assembly, wiring, and testing of high-quality electrical control panels, including PLC panels, motor control panels, and local control stations. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
•Lead the fabrication, assembly, and wiring of electrical control panels, ensuring adherence to schematics, codes, and safety standards.
•Perform thorough testing and troubleshooting of completed panels to verify functionality and reliability.
•Supervise and mentor junior technicians, providing guidance on best practices and quality control.
•Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and team members to ensure designs are executed accurately and efficiently.
•Document processes, modifications, and test results for quality assurance.
•Maintain a high standard of cleanliness, organization, and visual quality in all work.
•Promote a culture of safety by ensuring all team members follow OSHA guidelines, proper PPE usage, and hazard mitigation practices.
SKILLS REQUIRED
•Strong understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and industry standards (NEC, UL, etc.).
•Proficiency with hand and power tools, multimeters, and other testing equipment.
•Ability to lead a team and ensure high-quality workmanship.
•Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing visually clean, professional panels.
•Experience with industrial automation (PLCs, HMIs, VFDs) is a plus.
QUALIFICATIONS
•Proven experience in control panel fabrication, wiring, and testing (PLC panels, Local Control Panels, etc)
•Prior experience in a lead or supervisory role.
•Experience with UL508A panel standards and requirements.
•Must be self-motivated and can work well with others
•Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
•Ability to perform heavy lifting/pushing/pulling of material weighing 50 pounds
•Ability to squat, crawl, and work in confined spaces
•Proof of Identity and Employment Authorization
