Join an amazing company and team as a Lead Installation Technician. In this role you will be responsible for overseeing and executing the installation of our metal awning products at various job sites across the country. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. The Installation Lead ensures that all projects are completed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with company standards and customer specifications. This role requires a CLEAN driving record and a CDL or the ability to operate DOT regulated vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
•Lead and supervise installation crews to ensure projects are completed on time and to the highest quality standards.
•Perform installations according to project specifications and company guidelines.
•Conduct pre-installation site assessments, including verifying readiness (e.g., concrete installed, blocking in place, potential trade conflicts).
•Operate and oversee the safe use of heavy machinery and equipment required for installations.
•Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring that all debris is cleared after installation.
•Take and upload site photos, including completed work and any issues encountered, documenting them in the job folder.
•Perform field measurements when sites in proximity are ready for assessment.
•Direct, mentor, and support installation crew members, ensuring they perform their duties efficiently and safely.
•Foster a positive and professional work environment while reinforcing company values.
•Assign tasks to team members and oversee workflow to optimize productivity.
•Use discretion and independent judgment on matters of significance related to job execution and problem-solving.
•Serve as the primary point of contact for general contractors, site superintendents, and clients during installations.
•Provide timely updates on job progress and resolve any on-site issues or conflicts professionally.
•Obtain sign-offs from general contractors upon project completion and submit to the office for recordkeeping.
•Ensure clear documentation of job specifications and any deviations or challenges encountered.
•Adhere to and enforce all job site and company safety standards, ensuring crew members do the same.
•Conduct daily safety inspections of vehicles, trailers, tools, and equipment before use.
•Wear and enforce the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
•Report any job site hazards, equipment malfunctions, or safety concerns immediately.
•Maintain detailed records of any accidents, non-conforming products, or quality control issues.
•Coordinate transportation of equipment, materials, and crew to job sites, ensuring all traffic and DOT regulations are followed.
•Manage rental equipment procurement as needed to complete installations efficiently.
•Perform and document routine vehicle and equipment maintenance, ensuring all company assets are in working condition.
•Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of vehicle inspections and maintenance logs.
•Perform quality control checks of installed materials before leaving each job site.
•Identify and address any installation challenges, including fabrication issues, hardware discrepancies, or site conditions.
•Communicate any product or site deficiencies to the office and document them in the job record.
•Ensure all installations meet or exceed company quality standards and client expectations.
•Engage in clear and constructive communication with team members and leadership to foster teamwork and open dialogue with peers and management.
•Consistently embody and uphold the company's values and principles in every task and responsibility.
•Maintain a clean, neat, orderly and safe working environment.
Requirements:
•High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
•Minimum 3 years in construction, metal fabrication, or a related field, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role.
•Strong leadership and communication skills.
•Ability to read and interpret blueprints and installation specifications.
•Proficiency in operating heavy machinery and construction tools.
•Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities in fast-paced environments.
