Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Electrical Technician to support the operation and maintenance of oil and gas assets in West Texas and New Mexico. This role involves working night shifts on a 14/7 rotation, with a strong emphasis on troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems to ensure reliable and efficient operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with industrial electrical equipment, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work independently in remote field locations.
Key Responsibilities
•Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve electrical issues in production equipment, including motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and control systems, to minimize downtime.
•Maintenance: Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, instrumentation, and automation systems.
•Repairs: Repair or replace faulty electrical components, such as wiring, circuit breakers, transformers, and motor control centers (MCCs).
•Installation: Install new electrical equipment and systems as needed to support facility expansions or upgrades.
•Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, arc flash safety, and OSHA/NFPA 70E standards, to ensure a safe working environment.
•Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
•Collaboration: Work closely with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to coordinate activities and support production goals.
•Emergency Response: Respond promptly to after-hours callouts and emergencies to restore operations during night shifts.
•Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain inventory of electrical parts and tools to ensure availability for repairs.
Qualifications
•Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or technical certification in Electrical Technology, Industrial Electricity, or related field preferred.
•Experience: 3+ years of experience as an electrical technician, preferably in the oil and gas industry, with a focus on troubleshooting and maintenance.
•Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical systems, including low- and medium-voltage equipment (up to 480V and 4160V).
•Proficiency with electrical diagnostic tools, such as multimeters, megohmmeters, and thermal imaging cameras.
•Knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, SCADA systems, and instrumentation used in oil and gas operations.
•Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and technical manuals.
•Familiarity with NEC, NFPA 70E, and API standards.
•Strong communication and teamwork skills for working in remote field environments.
•Certifications: Valid Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent certification preferred; OSHA 10/30 or NFPA 70E certification is a plus.
•Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in extreme weather conditions, and perform tasks at heights or in confined spaces.
•Other: Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to remote field locations in West Texas and New Mexico.

•Schedule: Night shift on a 14/7 rotation (14 days on, 7 days off), typically 12-hour shifts, with occasional overtime.
•Environment: Outdoor and industrial settings, including exposure to extreme temperatures, noise, and hazardous conditions typical of oil and gas operations.
