One of the most important tasks of an I&E Operator is to assist the operations manager in all job functions laid out by the Operations Manager. Anything the Operations Manager requests should take priority over your day to day tasks outlined below.
As an I&E Operator, you must be able to minimize downtime and provide producers with excellent support. Daily duties are various including line locating, pigging, pipeline maintenance, compressor maintenance/shutdowns, electrical maintenance and resolving problems in a timely manner.
Duties and responsibilities include these essential tasks and are subject to change by the employer as needs arise in the company.
- Working closely with the Supervisor, Operations Foremen, and the Automation Department on troubleshooting and resolving controls issues.
- Day-to-day maintenance and repair, including hands on troubleshooting for instrumentation controls and automation.
- Proactively identifying potential or developing field issues and alerting managers for proactive remediation.
- Assisting in facility start-ups.
- Developing and performing loop checks on instrumentation.
- Managing the installation process of field cameras and monitoring systems.
- Providing remote and on-site support for automation issues at facilities and remote water transfer skids.
- Ensuring compliance with all safety requirements and protocols.
· Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited state-certified program
· Must possess a current, valid driver’s license and the ability to meet and maintain all eligibility requirements to drive a company vehicle
· Must have an interest in gaining knowledge of engineering principles and an understanding of subsurface and surface equipment and operations
· Must be able to perform simple mathematic calculations, have good mechanical aptitude, good writing skills, and have a good safety and driving record
· Prior work experience utilizing PC-based computer applications
· Must be able to work a flexible schedule – work will include Saturdays, Sundays and some holidays and can be changed at any time
· Must be able to communicate with operations in English
(Specifically: automation and controls, electrical background, read and understand P&Ids, drawings, schematics.
