HYDROVAC SUPERVISOR

Overview

The HydroVac Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day HydroVac excavation operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with company and regulatory standards. This role involves managing crews, coordinating equipment and schedules, and maintaining strong communication with clients, site personnel, and management. The HydroVac Supervisor ensures that all vacuum excavation and related services are performed safely, on time, and to quality standards.

Consistent attendance – I understand that last-minute callouts, no call/no-shows, tardiness, and failure to adequately schedule my PTO results in a hardship for Warrior Technologies and could result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Professional appearance – I understand that I need to maintain good hygiene and grooming and represent Warrior Technologies to the highest standard allowable in my position. Communication – I understand that I must be respectful and professional in my communication with others in the course of my employment, including but not limited to verbal, written, and electronic. Paperwork – I understand that I must complete the paperwork required of me in a timely manner, including but not limited to new hire paperwork, annual benefits paperwork, work orders, and safety paperwork. Timekeeping – I understand that I am responsible for clocking in and out and entering ticket numbers into my own timesheet. I understand that I am responsible for notifying my supervisor of a missed punch in a timely manner. I understand that I am not permitted to alter my time, and doing so is grounds for termination. Multi-Departmental Needs – I understand that I may be required to drive other company vehicles for customer coverage, including but not limited to hot oil, hydrovac, kill, pump, roll-off, end-dump, vacuum, winch, or other trucks as added to the Warrior fleet.

Safe Driving – I understand that I am expected to always practice safe driving while representing Warrior Technologies. Safety Training – I understand that I am responsible for timely completion of all safety training required of me. PPE – I understand that I am required to always wear all issued personal protective equipment as required by the task and customer. Accident Reporting – I understand that I am responsible for reporting all accidents, incidents, and near-misses immediately to my supervisor. Failure to report an accident or incident could result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Position Specific Expectations

Operational Management

- Supervise HydroVac operators, swampers, and field crews on job sites.

- Plan and schedule daily work assignments and equipment deployment.

- Monitor job progress to ensure timelines and project goals are met.

- Conduct pre- and post-job inspections, ensuring work quality and safety

compliance.

Safety & Compliance

- Enforce all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, DOT, local jurisdiction standards).

- Lead daily safety meetings (tailgate/toolbox talks).

- Ensure all staff use proper PPE and follow safe excavation and confined space entry procedures.

- Investigate and document any incidents, near misses, or equipment damage. Team Leadership & Training

- Provide leadership, mentorship, and hands-on training to crew members.

- Conduct performance evaluations and recommend development opportunities.

- Promote a positive work culture emphasizing teamwork, accountability, and safety.

Equipment & Maintenance

- Oversee the proper operation, maintenance, and inspection of HydroVac units and related equipment.

- Coordinate repairs and preventive maintenance with the shop/mechanics.

- Ensure accurate daily vehicle inspections (DVIRs) and maintenance logs. Administration & Reporting

- Complete daily job reports, timesheets, and project documentation accurately.

- Communicate regularly with project managers, clients, and dispatch regarding project updates and scheduling.

Qualifications:

- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in HydroVac or vacuum excavation operations.

- Previous supervisory or crew lead experience required.

- Valid Class A or B CDL with a clean driving record (with air brake endorsement preferred).

- Strong knowledge of excavation safety, utility locating, and environmental regulations.

- Ability to read and interpret maps, drawings, and job specifications.

- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

- Capable of working outdoors in varying weather and site conditions.

- Physically fit to perform field work as needed.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
