Position Summary
Hydro Tech is seeking a Hydro-Mechanical Project Manager with 3-5 years of direct, relevant project management experience to lead and oversee hydro-mechanical projects from initiation to close-out. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing budgets, schedules, resources, and client relationships while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
•Plan, coordinate, and manage hydro-mechanical projects to successful completion.
•Develop project schedules using MS Project and/or Primavera P6 and ensure milestones are met.
•Oversee project budgets, track costs, and control expenditures to maintain financial targets.
•Manage on-site activities, subcontractors, and internal resources to ensure timely, safe, and efficient project execution.
•Prepare and deliver project documentation, reports, proposals, and status updates to internal and external stakeholders.
•Act as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining positive working relationships.
•Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations on all project sites.
•Support procurement processes and assist with the selection of vendors and suppliers.
•Participate in project risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
Qualifications
•3-5 years of project management experience in hydro-mechanical, heavy industrial, or waterpower-related projects.
•Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
•Strong understanding of hydro-mechanical equipment and systems (gates, valves, penstocks, turbines, etc.).
•Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Primavera P6) and Microsoft Office Suite.
•Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
•Ability to travel to project sites in Canada and the United States as required.
•PMP certification (or working towards) is an asset.
•Knowledge of ISO 45001 standards is an asset.
