Summary of Position:
This position is a hybrid between Hydraulic Hose Technician and Counter Associate. This position receives inbound phone calls and walk-in customer inquiries, documenting accounts and submitting orders in a professional manner. Work independently with limited or no supervision at times, have a solid understanding of basic computer tasks including typing. This role demands strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Diagnose and repair issues with hydraulic systems and responsible for running hydraulics shop processes. This role performs a high standard of work and quality that is often time sensitive.
Pay:
Hourly - Based on Experience
Roles and Responsibilities:
•Assist telephone and walk-in customers
•Understanding and utilizing catalog to assist customers in part selection
•Initiating customer orders and counter orders through ERP
•Cash, credit, and check processing
•Supporting Hose Technicians as needed to fulfill orders
•Various inventory control tasks including paperwork and computer driven transactions
•Meet and/or exceed monthly customer experience goals
•Navigate through multiple computer programs with speed and accuracy
•Work with customers to resolve all inquiries
•Maintain professionalism in the work place
•Perform any other assigned proprietary duties
Qualifications and Requirements:
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
•Must be able to type more than 50 WPM (will complete short typing test upon onsite interview)
•Compassionate and patient customer service skills
•High attention to detail
•Prolonged standing, walking, stooping, bending, lifting – 100% daily (subject to change daily)
•Assist in lifting, pushing, and/or pulling up to 50 lbs. in adherence with Midwest Hose Safety Standards
•Ability to learn and think quickly
•Energetic, outgoing, and positive attitude
•Good organization skills
•Ability to prioritize and mange time
•Regularly required to talk and listen; sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms
•Must be able to meet the physical demands typical in a warehouse environment including but not limited to grasping and fine manipulations with hands, reaching, squatting, climbing, activities working around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, exposure to light dust and fumes.
•Commitment to work additional hours as needed
•Inspect and diagnose overall condition of machines
•Run hydraulics shop effectively and efficiently
•Provide maintenance on hydraulic systems
•Select and use proper tools and equipment for each task
•Diagnose and repair issues with hydraulic systems
•Document actions by completing production and quality forms
•Maintain safe and clean work environment
•Maintain professionalism in the work place
•Perform any other assigned proprietary duties
Education and Experience:
•High School diploma or GED (required)
•Customer service experience (highly preferred but not required)
•Prior hose & fitting experience (required)
•Forklift experience (preferred but not required
•Additional power equipment experience (preferred but not required)
