Safety Coordinator

Texas Steel Conversion is seeking an HSE Coordinator to join its team. TSC offers employment stability, great benefits, and long-term career opportunities.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

- Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment: Conducting inspections to identify potential hazards and assess risks associated with pipe handling, storage, welding, and other operations.

- Safety Program Implementation: Developing and implementing safety programs, policies, and procedures specific to pipe yard operations, including fall protection, machine guarding, and hazardous material handling.

- Training and Education: Training employees on safe work practices, emergency response plans, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

- Compliance Monitoring: Ensuring adherence to OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and other applicable standards.

- Incident Investigation and Reporting: Investigating accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.

- Emergency Response Planning: Developing and practicing emergency response plans for scenarios like fires, chemical spills, or accidents involving heavy machinery.

- Recordkeeping and Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of safety inspections, training, incidents, and compliance audits

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

- 3-5 years working as a Safety Coordinator or similar role.

- Working knowledge of Federal OSHA regulations.

- Bilingual Spanish/English (Required)

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in producing reports such as Safety Audits, Job Hazard Analysis, Accident reports, Incident reports, Near Miss reports, among others.

- MUST BE OK WITH BEING ON CALL - available to respond to safety-related incidents outside of standard working hours.

- OSHA 510 is a plus

- Outreach Trainer (OSHA 500) a plus

- First Aid/CPR (Trainer) or hold a certificate

- Demonstrated ability to write policies and procedures for health and safety.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite is a plus

- Demonstrated outstanding organizational skills and time-management skills

- Must exhibit critical thinking and problem-solving skills

- The successful candidate will operate as a team player with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
