Overview

A Hoist Maintenance Technician maintains the maintenance components, primarily within electrical, of hoist operations at various locations. This position requires specialized mechanical and electrical knowledge, attention to detail, and troubleshooting skills to solve and repair maintenance issues.

Job Duties

- Determine the appropriate procedures to locate and correct hoist electrical and maintenance problems, and implement component replacements

- Conduct pre-shift inspections, as well as preventative maintenance and equipment clean up, to ensure all equipment is operating safely and efficiently

- Troubleshoot electrical problems in: power circuits (ranging from 12 – 12,470 volts), control circuits (various voltage), power controls on hoisting equipment, and mining and ore handling equipment

- Perform maintenance duties, including, but not limited to: welding and fabrication, vehicle maintenance, monitoring of bearings, etc.

- Interpret electrical printouts, installation instructions and work order forms

- Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

- High school diploma or GED

- Valid Driver’s License

- Minimum two (2) years maintenance experience required

- Two (2) years electrical experience preferred

- Knowledge of AC and DC control circuits, as well as terminology of tools, prints and equipment

- Must be available to work call-out situations for a 24/7 operation

SCHEDULE & WORK ENVIRONMENT

10-hour workday, 4 days a week, at minimum. Maintenance call out situations possible. Schedule subject to change.

Work will occur in both an underground mining environment, as well as on the surface level.

- Underground mining environment is often not well lit and is at low heights

- Surface environment is an outdoor-non-temperature controlled environment, and is subject to weather conditions

- Both environments are exposed to louder than moderate noises (ex: vehicle noises, machinery noises, etc.)

- Employees are required to wear safety attire and personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times in both environments

Physical Requirements

Job physical requirements include:

- Standing, walking, sitting, squatting, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, making precise hand and fingers movements, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, reaching or grasping.

- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., and push and/or pull up to 50 lbs.

- Will be required to wear personal protective equipment as needed and engage in strenuous physical activity.

- Must be able to climb stairs and/or ladders, and potentially work at heights, perceive color differences.

- Will be required to wear personal protective equipment as needed and engage in strenuous physical activity.

A pre-placement physical and hair follicle drug test will be required for anyone selected for this opportunity. Placement into the position will not be made until the results are received and cleared by Intrepid.
