BUSINESS UNIT: TERMINALS
Kinder Morgan is the largest independent terminal operator in North America, providing a strong, reliable network of 144 terminals serving our customers’ storage, distribution, blending and logistical needs. Our terminals store and handle renewable fuels, petroleum products, chemicals, vegetable oils and other products. We have a combined liquids storage capacity of approximately 151 million barrels and handle about 59 million tons of dry bulk materials annually.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate D-9 and D-10 Dozer, Komatzu 375A equipped with concave blade attached across front to gouge out, level, and distribute petroleum coke from storage to re-claimer, from processing unit/pit to storage in a safe and efficient manner
- Operate bulldozer in successive passes over terrain to raise or lower terrain to specified grade
- Operate Front End Loader, Skidsteer, Manlift,Track Hoe and Forklift, All operators will train on Ship Loading
- Maintain all mobile and stationary equipment by performing preventive maintenance, i.e.: lubricating, cleaning, greasing, adding gear lubricants and other minor maintenance and repairs; document all activity performed
- Experience operating an excavator, fork lift, telehandler, skid steer and man lift. Must be capable of becoming a certified operator on each piece of equipment.
- Assist coworkers and maintenane crew on various job
- Follow proper safety rules and operating procedures to support zero tolerance safety objectives
- May be assigned to general duties in all areas of operations of the terminals
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent is required
- Prior experience as a heavy equipment operator is preferred, but we will train all qualified applicants.
- Operates equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment for the assigned tasks and report damaged protective equipment and unsafe conditions to Terminal Supervisor
- Understand and comply with Kinder Morgan and Total rules and policies
- Must be willing to work day or night shifts/overtime hours during the week or weekend hours and holidays
- In order to perform essential duties, regular work attendance is required
- Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules
- Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's driver license and have willingness to use personnel/company vehicle in course of employment
- Must pass and complete safety training/certification as required by customer to work in their facilities and as required by Kinder Morgan
- Must obtain and/or meet all requirements to enter foreign trade zones; such as background checks by both the U.S. Coast Guard and the Department of Homeland Security, i.e. obtain and maintain a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC).
- Must be able to pass a Drug and Alcohol test along with a Hair follicle test.
- Must be able to complete/pass DISA/ISTC background check and testing for entrance into refinery.
- Physically able to handle large tools, climb on and off the equipment, ascend and descend ladders, and should not have a fear of heights
- Regularly required to stand, walk, climb, bend, squat, reach, etc. for extended periods of time.
- Ability to handle evolving conditions.
- Ability to identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns.
- This position consists of outside work and adverse weather conditions may apply.
- A minimum of eight months to one year experience in Heavy equipment especially D9 dozers, D10, track hoes, etc.
