Responsibilities to include but not limited to:
•Performing routine maintenance and inspections on company-owned heavy equipment, including excavators, loaders, trailers, skid steers, water-trucks and company fleet trucks.
•Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues with machinery, equipment and vehicles, both in the field at job sites and at the shop/yard.
•Completing repairs and adjustments to equipment components, such as engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
•Perform welding and fabrication as needed to repair equipment, trailers and excavator buckets.
•Performing preventive maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication, to ensure longevity and reliability of equipment and vehicles.
•Keeping accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including work orders, service logs, and parts inventory.
•Procure necessary parts and materials for repairs and maintenance. Ensuring good value for money.
•Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies in all maintenance and repair activities.
•Assisting in the setup and breakdown of equipment at project sites as needed.
•Providing training and guidance to equipment operators on proper maintenance procedures and safe operating practices.
REQUIREMENTS:
•Minimum of 3 years experience as a Mechanic, preferably in the construction or heavy equipment industry.
•Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and repair a variety of equipment issues.
•Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and other components commonly found in heavy equipment.
•Fabricating and welding metal structures that meet industry standards and specifications. Extensive experience operating welding equipment and tools, including gas, electric, and TIG welding
•Experience with diagnostic tools and equipment, including computerized diagnostic systems.
•Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and technical specifications.
•Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
•Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suites.
•Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
•Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
•Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
•Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
