Responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of processes and procedures to ensure the company is in compliance with applicable government regulations as well as achieving company safety and environmental standards.
· Understand and comply with all safety and environmental requirements and company policies of Johnson Screens.
· Spend time on the shop floor, interacting with employees engaged in manufacturing process.
· Develop, implement and administer environmental, health and safety policies and procedures.
· Maintain HSE program for facilities in multiple states.
· Ensure that federal, state and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules are observed.
· Ensure that OSHA as well as other environmental and safety record keeping and reporting requirements are met.
· Serve as the primary focal point on all environmental issues including regulatory compliance, hazmat training, hazardous waste disposal, storm water monitoring, waste water monitoring and documentation.
· Assist in the activities of the safety committee by providing technical and resource support.
· Provide CIP (Continuous Improvement Process) training as requested.
· Assist in Human Resource matters as requested.
· Tour and inspect company facilities to ensure health, safety, and environmental compliance is maintained and recommend corrective or preventive measures where needed.
· Oversee the investigation and evaluation of accidents.
· Participate in the review of new operations, processes and procedures to assure HSE issues/hazards are addressed.
· Must know the Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality System Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Work Instructions.
· Perform various other duties as assigned by the supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
Manage the Health, Safety, and Enviornmental program at all 3 Johnson Screens sites (New Brighton MN, Bakersfield CA, and Forked River NJ).
· B.S. degree in Safety/Environmental/HR or related field
· 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
· Possess strong coaching, motivation, facilitation and leadership skills.
· Strong Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations (local, state, and federal).
· Working Knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and Lotus Notes.
· Ability to Multi task and handle varying issues simultaneously.
· Ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel.
· Ability to develop and present HSE/CIP/Communication Training.
