As the HSE Director, you will be the strategic leader driving health, safety, and environmental excellence across all IPS locations. In this high-impact role, you will design and lead company-wide safety initiatives, champion a culture of accountability and care, and ensure full compliance with OSHA, DOT, and industry regulations. You'll collaborate closely with internal teams, external partners, and regulatory agencies to elevate safety standards, streamline operations, and safeguard both our workforce and the communities we serve. This is more than a compliance role—it's a mission-critical position focused on risk reduction, operational excellence, and making safety a core part of how we work every day.
o Promote a proactive safety culture and implement preventative measures.
o Act as the primary contact for OSHA, insurance providers, and other regulatory bodies.
o Oversee incident reporting, including injury forms, workers’ compensation claims, and OSHA logs.
o Coordinate with Human Resources to ensure proper safety training during new hire orientations.
o Maintain and manage Master Service Agreements (MSAs).
o Support incident investigations and ensure written follow-ups with corrective actions.
o Provide client-specific safety documentation, such as certificates and ratings.
o Supervise the one-call/line locating division and the DOT manager.
o Conduct monthly safety meetings and trend analysis of incidents.
o Work with DOT Manager to ensure DOT compliance, vehicle inspections, and safety file maintenance.
o Manage and update safety databases (e.g., ISN, PEC).
o Develop, implement, and evaluate training programs and certifications.
o Conduct field audits and report findings for ongoing improvement.
o Stay current with safety regulations and standards through continued training.
o Ensure facility safety, including yards, parking lots, and workshops.
o Represent the company in community or industry organizations as needed.
o Monitor and report on HSE compliance, budget, and performance metrics.
o This role is situated within a professional office environment and regularly utilizes standard office equipment, including computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
o While executing job responsibilities, the employee will regularly engage in verbal communication. Additionally, physical demands include standing, walking, manual dexterity tasks, and reaching.
o Occasional physical activities may include sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The position involves frequent lifting and moving of objects weighing up to 10 pounds, with occasional lifting of objects up to 20 pounds.
o This is a full-time position with working hours that may vary, but a minimum of 50 hours weekly, with occasional weekend work.
