Grades 3-5 English Teacher for the Summer

Job Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join our team. As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a positive and engaging learning environment for students. You will teach various aspects of the English language, including grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and writing skills. Duties:

- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum standards

- Teach students various aspects of the English language, including grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and writing skills

- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback

- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes active learning

- Utilize instructional strategies and resources to meet the diverse needs of students

- Incorporate technology into lessons to enhance student engagement and learning

- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and improve instructional materials

- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and assessments

- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress

Experience:

- Previous experience teaching English/Language Arts

- Strong knowledge of English grammar, vocabulary, literature, and writing conventions

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

- Ability to engage students in meaningful learning experiences

- Experience with instructional design and assessment strategies

- Familiarity with behavior management techniques in the classroom

- Experience in tutoring or providing additional support to students

Skills:

- Strong command of the English language and ability to teach it effectively

- Excellent communication skills to engage students in meaningful discussions

- Copy editing skills to provide constructive feedback on student writing assignments

- Knowledge of literacy education principles and strategies

- Ability to design instructional materials that cater to different learning styles

- Familiarity with classroom management techniques to create a positive learning environment

- Experience in journalism or related fields is a plus

- Ability to tutor students individually or in small groups to provide additional support
