Grade Checker

Position Summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a motivated and detailed-oriented Grade Checker/Assistant Surveyor to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible with ensuring that project elevations, grades and slopes are correct, buried services are mapped, and marked, the project meets plan specifications, keeping and maintaining detailed records of information on multiple projects, and notifying proper personnel of operational and project issues which need to be addressed.

Grade checkers should have a good understanding of construction especially in dealing with the asphalt industry or desires to learn more about the asphalt industry.

Overall, the role of the Grade Checker is to make certain that they start and complete a project in a timely manner, providing the necessary information to the dirt prep and grading crews to facilitate their efficient operation.

Responsibilities

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities* Must be safety-oriented and practice safe work habits

Minimum Education and Experience* 3-5 years asphalt industry experience preferred

Working Conditions* Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noise
