Rogers Group is currently seeking a motivated, results oriented, Grading, Storm, Water and Sewer Superintendent to grow our team in our Upper Cumberland Operations located in Cookeville, TN. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising focus on Safety, Ethics, and Quality.
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
•Managing the day-to-day business activity for all grading, storm, sewer and water activities working in heavy-highway, residential and commercial work.
•Coordination of resources for all the crews to include equipment, manpower, supplies, and subcontractors.
•Responsible for execution of all grading, storm, utilities and sewer related workflow.
•Ensure projects are being managed to meet strict production deadlines and financial metrics.
•Assist in the scheduling of work with the construction manager, crew foreman and project managers.
•Ability to manage large work crews with complete oversight on safety, quality and the constructability of work on multiple projects simultaneously.
•Maintain good working relationships with DOT, City, County, and customers.
•Maintain good working relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
Qualifications
•Knowledge of all grading, water, storm, and sewer activities.
•Ability to communicate and work with senior management to achieve the necessary goals set for specific projects.
•Proven ability to supervise, train, and develop personnel.
•Must be able to perform in a team atmosphere, need good inquiry skills.
•Ability to view plans and proposals, visualize the job and see the opportunities for increased efficiencies as well as potential problems.
•Self-starter and someone that manages time without direct oversight daily.
•Manage projects involving incentives/disincentives with strict deadlines.
•8+ years of direct industry experience/supervision in grading, storm, utilities, sewer experience is a required.
•Effective communication skills, written and verbal, with internal and external customers.
•Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.
•Strategic thinker with the bigger picture in mind.
•Knowledge with HCSS suite (Heavy Bid, Heavy Job) is required.
•Ability to review job cost information, answer all job-related questions to upper management.
•This roll must have mind set determination on safety while keeping projects on schedule and completed in said time frame.
