Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Grading and Pipe Foreperson. The ideal candidate will be an experienced construction professional looking for a challenging opportunity with an industry leader. In this role, you will supervise and coordinate construction activities for pipe installation and heavy civil construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to coordinate multiple elements to ensure the completion of high-quality projects.
Location: Eugene OR is home base. Travel to Roseburg and Salem as needed.
Shift: Days/nights/weekends. Varies based on business demands.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Minimum Qualifications
•Must be a current member or able to join Laborers#737 or Operators#701.
•3+ years experience in heavy civil construction, specifically grading, excavation, underground utilities, site work, and/or projects with related scopes.
•Demonstrated effectiveness as a leader who is skilled in managing all aspects of construction projects at a time, including personnel, scheduling, and equipment.
•Passionate about providing coaching, mentoring, and feedback, as well as promoting a safe working environment for all employees.
•Possess a valid Driver’s license.
•Excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work well with a wide range of personality types both internally and with subcontractors.
•Demonstrated proficiency with reading blueprints, site specifications, and executing project plans.
•Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
•Safety minded professional who demonstrates good performance, attendance, and punctuality.
•Demonstrates the ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and nights as needed.
•Demonstrates the ability to conform to and maintain OSHA, MSHA, DOT and all other company or state rules and regulations.
•Must pass pre-employment drug screen and physical examination.
•Must have current US Authorization to work or ability to obtain without company assistance prior to start date.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
•Manage personnel in a safe and effective manner by providing onsite direction and guidance for employees during the workday.
•Plan, troubleshoot and possess analytical skills to schedule daily work assignments, assign priorities, requisition materials and equipment to complete projects in a timely manner.
•Prepare and maintain required written records, logs, progress reports, time and weight tickets, attendance records and safety and inspection documents as required.
•Interpret blueprints, charts, maps and other construction drawings and plans.
•Review reports on cost, quantity, and utilization to ensure labor and equipment are being used efficiently.
•Collaboration with subcontractors to schedule work and coordinate with the plant and dispatcher to manage materials, trucking, and labor requirements.
•Consult with other project supervisors and engineers, attend meetings, perform on-site inspections, and conduct weekly safety meetings.
•Promptly communicate with supervisors on any flaws in material.
•Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions.
•Other tasks and duties as assigned to meet business needs.
•Regular and timely attendance.

•Regularly exposed to traffic hazards and moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
•The noise level in the work environment is usually loud, however, PPE will be provided by our team to keep you safe. Please provide your own pair of steel-toed or composite-toed boots.
•Job requires the following motions: bending, hammering, stooping, pushing, pulling, squatting, throwing. Walking and standing occupy most of the workday.
