Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Global Supply Chain Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in optimizing our supply chain processes, ensuring efficient production planning, and maintaining inventory control. This position requires a strong understanding of supply chain management principles, along with experience in demand planning and lean manufacturing methodologies.
- Manage third party international traffic/logistics to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of goods and/or services to the international customers’ job site and/or Fosbel facility.
- Oversee inbound and outbound activities related to order shipping, tracking and claim submittal when necessary.
- Create required shipping documents for international shipments (packing lists, commercial invoices, bills of lading, import/export documentation, etc.)
- Create and evaluate reports and performance metrics to manage and improve site delivery performance and cost controls.
- Proactively explore and standardize new programs for continuous improvements in logistics and procurement process.
- Support overall inventory management to ensure that both internal and external customer needs are met with the aid of forecasts from sales members.
- Manage inbound activities related to receipt and storage of goods and submit claims, when necessary; processes freight claims and customer complaints
- Manage, maintain, establish and coordinate third party relationships with vendors, forwarders and other suppliers.
- Assures compliance with customs, export, applicable foreign trade/importation laws, as well as applicable federal transport regulations.
- Initiate timely invoicing and work closely with accounting department to ensure billing accuracy.
- Identifies risks and opportunities when developing logistics plan and freight estimates for super loads, complex international shipments to ensure cost-effective, safe, and efficient transportation of company’s products.
- Work with technical team to locate and secure new raw materials and new sources of established materials for ongoing improvement of supply chain resilience.
- Negotiate with vendors on pricing and terms for purchased products.
- Calculate and source needed quantities of raw materials for large scale projects and arrange timelines for delivery of both raw materials to production point(s) and delivery of finished goods.
- Reviews, prepares, and invoices for payment.
- Observe good housekeeping and safety habits, follow Fosbel policies and procedures and perform other duties as assigned.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve supply chain issues effectively.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance lean manufacturing practices and improve operational efficiency.
- Analyze demand forecasts and adjust supply plans accordingly to align with market trends.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives using Six Sigma methodologies to streamline operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in supply chain management or production planning is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in ERP systems is essential.
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices.
- Familiarity with root cause analysis techniques and inventory control methods.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
