Bald Mountain is an open-pit mine with a large estimated mineral resource in the largest private mining land package in the U.S. The mine is located in White Pine County, one of the best mining jurisdictions in the world, along the southern extension of the prolific Carlin trend. Bald Mountain and the nearby Round Mountain mine make up Kinross’ Nevada operations.

Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Purchasing Supervisor, the Supply Chain Specialist works to maintain the document control filing system, all related paperwork, and communication regarding Avetta for contractors. This job is integral to the efficient operation of the Purchasing Department, providing support to the buyers in an effort to obtain best pricing for the mine. This position supports Kinross Nevada Purchasing Departments and requires compliance and understanding of the Kinross Corporate Supply Chain Policy.
This role is located primarily on the mine site with a Monday-Thursday, 10 hour schedule.
Essential Functions•Maintains and reviews contracts for completeness with Management and Contract Buyer approval.
•Assists the stock buyer with Forward Purchase Agreements (contract).
•Maintains and reconciles the lime order schedule and historical record of deliveries and non-deliveries for Kinross Nevada.
•Interacts with Suppliers to establish them as approved vendors for Kinross Nevada.
•Interacts with Suppliers and ISN and maintains liability insurance policies and safety policies for Kinross Nevada Purchasing Departments.
•Works with Corporate Compliance and Supply Chain Governance to maintain Supplier Address Book.
•Maintains Purchasing Department’s safety-related documentation.
•Researches and investigates all Purchase Order expedite issues coming from Purchasing and Warehouse. Supports the Goods Received Not Vouchered Report and Finance Department's tracking of financial commitments.
•Inputs new Suppliers in JDE and works regularly with Corporate on GAN for Kinross Nevada.
•Provides administrative support such as ordering office supplies, faxing, photocopying, mail distribution, answering and forwarding calls, vendor screening, and appointments.
•Maintains an organized filing system.
•Types correspondence for department using Microsoft Word as needed.
•Assists in other functions of the Warehouse as needed, including receiving and inventory support.
•Meets or exceeds established performance expectations set by management.
•Performs other related functions assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications And Skills Requirements
•Must maintain strict confidentiality regarding Kinross business practices.
•Phone etiquette and interpersonal skills to deal with vendors and site personnel.
•Proficient in typing and electronic correspondence.
•Strong reading, writing, math, and alphabetizing skills with good spelling.
•Ability to organize workload and follow systems, procedures, and standard rules of operation.
•Should recognize problems and solve using prescribed solutions or selecting from approved alternatives based on best practice. Supervisor is available for non-standard situations.
•Self-starter with strong time management skills.
•JDE proficiency is preferred.
•Familiarity with Windows operating environment, including Word and Excel, is essential.
•1-3 years of supply chain experience desired.
•Requires valid driver’s license.
