Position Overview
Aspen Midstream is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry Level GIS Technician / CAD Drafter to join our team in Dallas, TX. This role supports engineering, operations, and land departments by producing high-quality maps and drawings to support the planning, design, and maintenance of pipeline and facility infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
•Create and maintain CAD drawings and GIS maps for pipeline routes, facilities, and related infrastructure.
•Assist with the integration of survey data, as-built drawings, and engineering records into GIS/CAD systems.
•Provide drafting support for permit applications, construction plans, and engineering designs.
•Work closely with project engineers, land agents, and field personnel to gather and update data.
•Utilize 3rd party data providers to research, analyze, and organize data, to prepare and maintain maps and data products to support commercial growth.
•Produce and maintain drawing, map, report, and visualization deliverables and for internal and external stakeholders as needed.
•Maintain spatial files and databases and ensure data integrity, consistency, and accuracy.
•Other data management, data entry, and map creation as directed.
Qualifications
Required:
•Associate degree or technical certificate in GIS, Drafting, Engineering Technology, Geography, or related field.
•Experience or training in GIS (e.g., ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap) and CAD (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
•Strong attention to detail and ability to work with spatial data formats and coordinate systems.
•Excellent communication and organizational skills.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
•Willingness to learn industry standards and regulations related to pipeline systems.
Preferred:
•Internship or project experience in oil & gas, utilities, or civil infrastructure.
•Familiarity with GPS data collection, survey data, or field mapping tools.
•Knowledge of FERC and PHMSA regulations related to pipeline mapping.
•Experience with Python, ModelBuilder, or other GIS automation tools is a plus.
