CAD Draftsman

Job Overview:

The CAD Draftsman will design and create technical drawings for customers and in-house products, devices, equipment, etc.

Responsibilities and Duties:

· Creates blueprints for a requested product, which involves brainstorming, creating rough drafts of the blueprint, and creating subsequent detailed designs

· Once a product is created, the CAD Draftsman will work with the Quality Department to ensure that the product has no defects or abnormalities

· Collaborate with others throughout the design process, such as Machinists and respective Department Managers in order to ensure product quality and manufacturing efficiency

· The CAD Draftsman will periodically measure parts that are provided by the customer in order to reverse engineer them

· Manage all CAD systems and be proficient in those systems

· Will be proficient in CAD programs, such as AutoCAD, Inventor, DraftSight, Solidworks, & ProNest

· Provide design suggestions, review documents, and ensure that documents are compliant with customer requirements

· Provide drawings that must be prepared in conformance with company standards

· Ability to complete projects independently and/or in a small team in a responsible and timely manner

· Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems

· Other duties as necessary/assigned

Qualifications:

· Must be a hard working individual with a desire to continue learning and perfecting his craft

· Associate Degree in CADDrafting or equivalent experience preferred

· 1-3 years’ experience in a Design or Drafting position preferred

· ADDA Certified Mechanical Drafter certification preferred

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

· Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality

· Able to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods of time

· Able to lift 20+ pounds

· Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test

· Must pass a pre-employment background check
