Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled GIS Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the collection, analysis, and management of geographic information systems (GIS) data. This position requires proficiency in GIS software and tools, as well as a strong understanding of data collection methods and project management principles. The GIS Technician will collaborate with various departments to support projects that involve mapping, land surveying, and data visualization.
Duties
•Collect and analyze spatial data using GIS software, primarily ArcGIS.
•Build and maintain databases for geographic information.
•Utilize GPS technology for accurate data collection and mapping.
•Develop APIs to integrate GIS applications with other systems.
•Assist in land surveying activities to ensure accurate representation of geographical features.
•Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely completion of GIS-related tasks.
•Create detailed maps and visualizations to support project objectives.
•Conduct quality control checks on collected data to ensure accuracy and reliability.
•Provide technical support and training to team members on GIS tools and methodologies.
Requirements
•Proficiency in GIS software, particularly ArcGIS.
•Experience with data collection techniques and GPS technology.
•Familiarity with project management principles and practices.
•Knowledge of JavaScript for developing interactive web maps or applications is a plus.
•Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets.
•Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
•Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
•A background in land surveying or related fields is preferred but not mandatory.
