Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented GIS Technician to join our team. Besides working with GIS, GIS Technician will assist with monthly meter reading, waterline inspections and locating waterlines for Missouri One Call.
Duties:
•Assist in the upkeep of the District GIS system, and assure that it is up to date and as accurate as possible.
•Perform meter reading in a timely and accurate manner.
•Perform inspections for the District on new line installation and complete as-builts daily and keep daily and accurate inspection sheets. Produce accurate and complete valve and fire hydrant cards.
•Perform locates for the District as called in by Missouri One Call.
•Assist in the maintenance of the procedure manuals for the District mapping department.
•Effective, courteous and timely communication with other employees, customers and supervisor.
•Operation of GPS equipment
•Assist the Front Office by answering phone and assisting customers, including taking payments in high traffic situations, or when office is short staffed.
•Produce error-free correspondence, information, and documents within the specified time frames given.
•Excellent attendance and punctuality with a minimum of absences.
•Effective and competent management of assigned duties, meeting specified or required deadlines.
•Able to follow orders and directives and work autonomously when necessary.
•Any other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
•Ability to operate a computer with relative ease.
•Familiar with Microsoft Office and ArcGIS.
•Obtain and hold a DS II Certificate from Missouri Department of Natural Resources.
•Physically able on a daily basis to bend, kneel, walk and on occasion lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
•Must be able to work with minimal supervision and handle multiple tasks. Must be able to quickly resolve problems when they occur.
•Ability to speak and communicate effectively with supervisor, fellow employees, and customers.
•Ability to read and interpret documents such as maps, plans, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, equipment manuals, customer correspondence, various reports, and procedure manuals.
•Must have excellent attendance and punctuality.

Pay: $17.00 - $24.00 per hour
