The Business Analyst 2 supports the business users through monitoring and recommending improvements to ESRI’s ArcGIS Enterprise Platform and business systems. This position helps identify ways to improve the efficiency of new and existing GIS processes, gather functional requirements, build business cases when needed, and design and document GIS processes. The BA 2 manages and provides GIS solutions for new business ideas and concepts through operational process changes and/or technological paths.
- Supports the business or technical client in the creation of Project Business Case development.
- Collects and analyzes GIS data for potential business expansion.
- Identifies specific business opportunities and recommends the improvement of GIS business processes that will improve quality and satisfy efficiency goals.
- Identifies stakeholders to support GIS business projects or business process design.
- Influences stakeholders to support business projects.
- Leads GIS projects and coordinates with other teams to produce better business outcomes.
- Coordinates with software vendors and business users to examine and improve enterprise GIS business processes.
- Manages user acceptance testing.
- Determines and utilizes the most efficient requirement solicitation method including, but not limited to interviews, focus groups, surveys, workshops, or formal review of existing documentation.
- Assists in the coordination of GIS project meetings, interactive sessions, and team collaboration workshops.
- Assists in the development of GIS training documents and programs.
- Uses GIS technology for spatial analysis to produce maps and/or reports for business needs and requests.
- Works with departmental experts to support a variety of GIS Integrations.
- Complies with established CoServ safety and operating rules, procedures and guidelines including reporting unsafe practices to a supervisor.
- Complies with established CoServ Information Security Handbook, policies, procedures, and guidelines including reporting suspected information security incidents to Tech Support.
- Attends minimum eight (8) hours of required company training and employee development
- Attends monthly department safety meeting.
- Participates in a rotating 24/7 after-hours on-call duty.
- Performs other duties and activities as directed.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D equivalency.
- BS or BA in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, Business, Economics Information Technology/Systems or related degree.
- Verifiable history of progressive GIS experience and responsibility may be substituted for degree.
- 2+ years experience as a Business Analyst and/or Project Manager. - 2+ years of progressive GIS Analyst experience. - 2+ years of experience with ESRI software. - 2+ years of experience with Enterprise ArcSDE Geodatabases utilizing Oracle or SQL Server databases.- Certification(s) in Business.
- Master of Business Administration or Advanced Degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, Information Technology/Systems, Business or, Economics.
- Experience deploying broad range of applications within ESRI’s ArcGIS Enterprise Platform ArcServer, ArcGIS Portal, DataStore and/or ArcGIS Online.
- 1+ years of SQL, ESRI ArcObjects, Python Scripting, Visual Basic or other script based development.- Experience with business process modeling tools.
- Experience with Schneider Electric ArcFM software for utilities.
- Experience with Electric or Gas GIS data and/or network concepts.
- Understanding of Business Process Analysis and workflow concepts.
- Technical writing/user documentation preparation experience.
- Strong spatial analytical skills.

- Superior presentation and negotiation skills.
