Reporting to the Senior Geologist, and working closely within the Development Team, the candidate will be innovative, collaborative and bring a strong technical background to help drive development and growth activities.
About the Role:
•Provide technical support for conventional oil and gas assets, enhanced oil recovery projects, CCS development and new business opportunities from appraisal through to optimization & development.
•Independently develop geological workflows to evaluate plays and identify value-creating opportunities.
•Integrate geoscience, petrophysical, geophysical and engineering datasets into geomodel development and reservoir characterization.
•Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate geoscience data driving value creation through optimization and development opportunities.
•Prepare technical reports, presentations and recommendations for stakeholders.
•Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Experience and Skills:
•Experience in carbonate geology and providing core descriptions an asset.
•Petrophysical analysis experience is an asset.
•Proficiency with Petrel is an asset.
•Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical reporting skills.
•Demonstrates resilience and adaptability to changing business drivers, effectively processing new data and information in fast-paced environments.
•Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong ability to collaborate across disciplines and communicate geological insights effectively.
•Championing projects and ideas with conviction, with the ability to actively listen, inspire buy-in and solve problems.
•Proven capability to integrate technical capabilities with business aptitude and apply them to project development.
•Proven capability to consider business drivers in all aspects of workflows, decision-making, and prioritization.
•Recognizing the value of building relationships and seeking information from all areas of the organization, including Field Operations.
Specific Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Geology or a related field.
•Professional membership with APEGA (P.Geo.) or eligibility for registration.
•5+ years of industry experience in geoscience with preference of candidates with a technical background in reservoir characterization.
•Understanding of regulatory and environmental compliance in geoscience applications.
