Coterra is hiring a Geo Tech in our Midland, Texas office.

JOB SUMMARY

As a Geo Tech for Coterra, you will provide support to the Permian Basin in data management and document creation using programs such as Petra, Kingdom, Spotfire and ArcGIS. May help support other technical teams with data management and transfers as needed. This position is located in our Midland, Texas office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assisting the team with various geological and geophysical research and analytical projects related to gathering, analyzing, and integrating spatial data for mapping, reporting, analysis, and presentation

Data table creation and database management in various software platforms (ESRI, Petra, Geographix, Paradigm, and Spotfire). Typical tasks include loading of log data, geological maps, downloading and dissemination of well data from IHS and state databases, onboarding of seismic data (SEGY), metadata entry into internal info bases, project building and maintenance, and creation of maps/PPT displays

QA/QC related to database maintenance/cleanup while ensuring data quality and integrity within multiple projects across several software platforms

Provide mapping and general GIS support and collaboration across multiple departments withing the organization

Job requirements

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Proficiency in several geoscience software packages preferred (ArcGIS, Petra, Geographix, Kingdom)

Strong data management skills and attention to detail and accuracy

Proactive and collaborative team player in a multi-disciplined environment

Strong verbal/written communication skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

Excellent organization and time-management skills

General understanding of geoscience and experience in an E&P company is strongly preferred

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Minimum 4 Year / Bachelors Degree Degree in Geology, Geosciences, Earth Sciences GIS, Data management or related field

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 2 years relevant Professional experience with an E&P operator

Travel 10%- 15%
