Generator Service Technician (Residential/Commercial)

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in equipment repair, with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, customer service skills, and mechanical knowledge to ensure high-quality service delivery.

Duties

- Perform diagnostics and repairs on various types of generators, including diesel engines and generators. (air-cooled & liquid-cooled up to ~1MW)

- Perform startups, load banks, warranty work, and preventative maintenance agreements

- Complete digital service tickets with photos; communicate clearly with customers

- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for repairs.

- Engage with customers to provide updates on service status and address any inquiries or concerns.

- Maintain accurate records of repairs, services performed, and parts used.

- Collaborate with team members to improve service processes and customer satisfaction.

- Assist in heavy lifting as required during equipment repairs or installations.

Qualifications

- 2+ years generator or engine/electrical service experience (Generac/Kohler/Cummins a plus)

- Strong troubleshooting skills, clean workmanship, valid driver’s license, customer-friendly demeanor

- Comfort with HouseCall Pro (or similar) and basic tablet workflows

- Familiarity with diesel engine repair is highly desirable.

- Solid mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools.

- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients.

- Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed during repairs or maintenance tasks.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
