We are seeking a highly organized and results driven Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of industrial generator projects. This role involves managing cross functional teams, coordinating with clients and vendors, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget. The ideal candidate will have experience in power generation systems, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of industrial project lifecycles.
Reporting Relationship: The Project Manager- Generators reports to the Director of Sales – Generators.
- Follows HM Cragg processes for establishing project files and managing all project data (the Project Snapshot), customer account set up, and obtaining approved terms and conditions of sale. Ensures all requirements for an acceptable order are met- solicit support from sales and Director when required.
- Enters sales orders in HM Cragg and vendor portals in a timely and accurate manner.
- Prepares detailed project plans, timelines, budgets and resource allocations, including identification of major milestones, for overseeing, controlling, communicating and managing all activities required to complete projects through install and start-up.
- Create submittal packages and documentation, including OEM standard, project specific approval drawings, generator pad, and one-line drawings for engineering approval, contractor installation, start up, and test procedures. Submits for approval as required.
- Using available sales tools (GenConnect, manufacturer's pricing guides, OEM project quotation), to track project pricing and costing for products, materials, labor, OEM services, transportation and logistics, start up and test and other project specific costing as required. All project data is stored in company ERP/CRM tool.
- Coordinates project communications between all internal and external parties involved.
- Consults with various departments within HMC as appropriate to resolve technical issues that arise during the order to commissioning cycle and drive to resolution.
- Ensure compliance of project with specifications and drawings, safety standards, environmental regulations and industry codes.
- Use Generac and other suppliers' tools and applications to order all necessary project materials in a timely, accurate and cost-effective manner.
- Maintains and tracks relevant shipping details, expected factory exit date, and logistics requirements to facilitate damage-free delivery. Monitor project progress and proactively address risks, delays, or scope changes.
- Verifies with sales, consulting engineer, contractor and user any site-specific challenges impacting any phase of the project to be anticipated- conduct preliminary site walk when practicable.
- Performs timely invoicing through project milestones as required by HM Cragg's selling terms and conditions.
- Makes collection efforts on past due unpaid invoices. Maintains accurate data in HM Cragg reporting and tracking tools, Implements collections escalation processes when necessary.
- Periodically reviews inventory position of certain equipment and proactively orders replenishment.
- Completes internal reporting, submits expenses at least weekly.
- Perform other duties and assignments as necessary.
- Proven experience successfully managing projects on time and on budget
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient or can become proficient in the use vendor supplied portals and company ERP/CRM software
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

- Experience in electrical, mechanical, or general contracting documentation
- Strong knowledge of generator equipment and installation practices desired
- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and electrical schematics

- 4 yr. degree preferred or 2 yr. technical degree plus 2 yr. of related experience- construction project management, power generation, electrical or engine mechanical preferred
- Knowledge of generator products and familiarity with complementary and competitive products
- Experienced in the use of project management software
- Demonstrated knowledge of modern business tools and electronic resources incl. computer, internet, email, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, Teams)
- Ability to occasionally travel overnight
