Job Summary

Well-established Machine Shop specializes in precision machining services for the Oil and Gas industry. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a dynamic, results-oriented General Manager who will strategically lead the organization to new heights while ensuring operational excellence and sustainable profitability. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of the Machine and Tool Shop management. Reporting directly to ownership, who will maintain a passive strategic role, the General Manager will assume complete responsibility for the overall performance, profitability, and growth of the business. This executive leader will manage all business functions, including strategic planning, operations, financial oversight, sales and marketing, customer relationships, and team development.

Duties

•

Lead and motivate the team to provide high-quality service and maintain a positive work environment.

•

Conduct regular inventory checks to manage stock levels effectively and minimize waste.

•

Address customer inquiries and complaints promptly to maintain high satisfaction levels.

•

Collaborate with upper management on strategic planning and business development initiatives.

•

Develop and execute strategic plans focused on profitable growth, operational efficiency, and market expansion. Identify and capitalize on emerging industry trends, market opportunities, and competitive advantages.

•

Oversee day-to-day machining operations to ensure quality, productivity, and cost efficiency. Implement best-in-class processes, lean methodologies, and continuous improvement initiatives.

•

Assume full P&L accountability, driving consistent profitability and delivering robust financial results. Effectively manage budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and capital investments.

•

Foster relationships with key customers, industry leaders, and strategic partners. Drive new customer acquisition, retention, and expansion into new markets or product/service lines.

•

Recruit, develop, and lead high-performing teams, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and excellence. Mentor direct reports and build succession planning frameworks.

Requirements

•

Extensive executive-level leadership experience within the machining sector, preferably serving the Oil and Gas industry.

•

Excellent communication skills for interacting with staff, customers, and vendors.

•

Experience in cash handling processes and financial reporting.

•

Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

•

Knowledge of inventory control practices to optimize stock management.

•

Strong leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and manage a diverse team effectively. Demonstrated P&L leadership and proven success driving sustainable growth and operational efficiency.

•

Strong knowledge of machining processes, quality standards, and the competitive dynamics of the Oil and Gas marketplace.

•

Exceptional financial acumen, analytical skills, and strategic thinking capabilities.

•

Proven ability to build effective customer relationships and lead high-performing teams.
